Norton Prize ( now Robert M. Vogel Prize).
Awarded in 1987 by the Society for Industrial Archeology (SIA) “for outstanding scholarship in industrial archeology”, for a published article, "The Role of the Historian in Reconstructing Historic Engineering Structures: Parks Canada's Experience on the Rideau Canal, l976-l983", IA: The Journal of the Society for Industrial Archeology, Vol. 11, No. 1, l985, pp. 1-28.
Parks Canada Merit Award.
Awarded in 1994 by Parks Canada “for preparing the research base and the organization of the Historic Transportation Corridors International Meeting” of World Heritage Convention, International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). The ICOMOS meeting was hosted by Parks Canada at Chaffey’s Lock, Rideau Canal, September 1994.
Gordon W. Plewes Award.
Awarded in 1996 by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) in recognition of a “noteworthy contribution to Canadian engineering history”.
Prix d’Excellence/Award of Excellence.
Awarded in 2001 by Parks Canada for an “outstanding contribution to the development of the Parks Canada Human Resources Management Framework” as the representative of National Historic Sites Directorate.
Peers’ Prize.
A newly-instituted prize awarded in 2002 by the Historical Services Branch, Parks Canada, for the most outstanding report submitted to a session of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
Robert M. Vogel Prize
Awarded in May 2012 by the Society for Industrial Archeology (SIA) in recognition of “outstanding scholarship in the field of industrial archeology” for a published article, “St. Andrew’s Caméré Curtain Bridge Dam, Lockport, Manitoba”, IA: the Journal of the Society for Industrial Archeology, vol. 33, no. 2, 2007, pp. 4-34. (Published in 2011).
